Who’s ready for one of the easiest meals ever smoked? This smoked pork loin also doubles as one of my favorite “quick smokes”. The best part? Pork loin is extremely inexpensive which makes this one of the more economical recipes too. Enjoy the recipe below!

Ingredients Needed For Smoking A Pork Loin

  • 1 four-pound “half” pork loin
  • 6 TBSP kosher salt

That’s it. I promised you this would be easy and every step below is just as easy.

Preparing Your Pork Loin For The Smoker

I picked up this half pork loin from Aldi but you can find this cut from nearly any supermarket. This recipe focuses on a smaller four-pound “half loin” but you can easily double the salt to cook a pull loin.

As you can see below, all we’re going to do is make some slices against the fat cap and coat the entire loin with kosher salt. I then placed the entire loin (uncovered) in my refrigerator for 3 hours. This step is optional but I find that it helps make the fat cap dry out a bit making it more crispy once the smoke is complete.

What Temperature To Smoke Pork Loin?

Prepare your smoker to stay between 225 and 250 degrees. Place the loin fat cap facing up. You can expect this smoke to take between 2 and 2.5 hours. Make sure you use a temperature probe as it’s important to cook to the final internal temperature vs a set time. While you can remove the loin from the smoker at 145 degrees F, my family prefers to eat our pork closer to 155 degrees F. You’ll notice from the pictures below that this did not compromise the juiciness of the pork loin at all.

No Resting Required, Slice It Up, and Enjoy!

Finally, a smoking recipe that doesn’t tease you with the need to rest for 15+ minutes before devouring. If you’re like me and finished the meat before the sides were completed, wrapping it up in foil won’t harm the pork loin at all.
When you’re ready to serve dinner cut 1/4 to 1/2 slices of this roast. Due to this recipe containing quite a bit of salt, I don’t feel the need to add any additional seasonings or sauces. Simply pair with some mashed potatoes and a vegetable and you’ll be the family’s hero. Enjoy!
