# Traeger Smoked Country Style Pork Ribs

Everyone likes traditional [pork ribs](https://www.pelletsmoker.net/recipes/smoked-bbq-pork-ribs/) and [beef ribs](https://www.pelletsmoker.net/recipes/smoked-bbq-beef-ribs/) but what if money is tight or simply want a quick smoke? I highly recommend you try these country-style pork ribs. These ribs aren’t actually ribs but are typically cut from a large pork shoulder.

While I love this cut of meat for [pulled pork](https://www.pelletsmoker.net/recipes/smoked-bbq-pulled-pork/), this is definitely a BBQ fan favorite as these country-style ribs are not only smoked but beer-braised as well!

Ingredients For Preparing Pork Country Style Ribs
-------------------------------------------------

This recipe consists of two parts. The first is a quick smoke to bring the pork ribs to temperature and then a quick braise to make the ribs tender and delicious. Let’s cover what you’ll need to make this smoke possible.

- One package of country-style pork ribs ~ 3lbs.
- Two tablespoons of yellow mustard
- three-four tablespoons of your favorite BBQ rub (I used Grill mates Sweet + Smokey)
- One can of beer
- 1/4 stick of salted butter
- 1/2 cup of your favorite bbq sauce (I used sweet baby rays)

Smoking Directions:
-------------------

1. Turn your smoker on and bring it to 250 degrees.

2. Remove your country-style pork ribs from the package and pat dry.
3. Rub each of the ribs with yellow mustard.
4. Liberally apply the bbq rub on each rib section
5. Place country ribs directly on the smoker until they reach 155 degrees. This should take about 1-hour.
6. Remove the country ribs and follow the braising directions (below).

7. Once the braise is complete – return country ribs back to the smoker. Apply BBQ sauce directly to the country ribs and smoke at 300 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Braising Directions:
--------------------

1. After smoking the country ribs until 155 degrees, remove and place in braising pan.
2. Add 3/4 of a can of beer to the bottom of the pan.

3. Add a pad of butter to each individual country rib.
4. Cover the braising pan and place it back on the smoker.
5. Increase smoker to 300 degrees.
6. Allow braising for one hour.
